Hi all, As the summer months begin, be sure your Oklahoma family reunions are posted to the OK Reunions page ... send them to us at TimeTrvlrO@aol.com and we'll get them on the page asap. Please share any reunion tips or suggestions you may have used successfully with your own family get-togethers....this section of the page also has several printouts available for interviews and q-&a's to pass around at your reunion. There are currently 29 reunions listed for 2005 and five years of previous reunions on the page...I get so many requests for information on specific surnames that I think its time for a search engine! Have a safe weekend, LaRae & Eireann OK Family Reunions http://www.rootsweb.com/~okkingfi/family.htm btw...Marti, if you would still like the reunion page taken off the Kingfisher webspace and onto it's own, just let us know when the new space is set up, and we'll make the switch...thanks...8-)

Wow! Now I see what a huge gap there is in my knowledge about my husbands grandfather. I will forward your questions to his sisters and see if they respond. I will ask one favor though, If they respond please send a copy of their correspondence to me. Without a long story, I would like to "stay-in-know," I keep them informed of anything I find out of respect for their efforts to find information on their family, but they don't feel the same. Thank you for all your help! Patty, This is probably way off but Was Frank a locomotive fireman or foreman? Do you think he was deceased or his wife, or were they just possibly separated from Albert in 1900, but living? Do you know when Frank was born could he be about 29 (b. 1871) in 1900 making him about 22 when Albert was born? I found one Frank Burton fitting this description (race: white?) boarding in Texas in 1900 and it appeared he was in a neighborhood with people who were "locomotive workers" from many states and this Frank was reported to be born in Iowa, however of all the information on the whole page reported to the enumerator (who was very thorough in his recording, filling in every column for all person he recorded including 0 for no children, S for singles etc) only Franks information had missing entries meaning maybe he didn't report it himself, but the boarding home owner or someone else! Missing was his, birth month, marital status, years married, number of children, ability to read, write etc. Any siblings for Frank to your knowledge? Curious and hope to help! Judith A Young

Thank you for trying. I have the two census records you mentioned. I am now trying to locate them together somewhere aside from the copy of Albert's SS application to verify the information we have, or disqualify it, whichever happens to be the case. I need to someone who can do a census record for 1895 IT, OK, for; head of household: Frank Burton b. TENN (?) m. Mary Headley b. Iowa, Child Albert Burton/Headley. We do not know at this point if the couple was married, but are assuming they were. I also would appreicate it if someone could look for a marriage licence or record for this couple. Thank you so very much for your help! Patty
In the 1900 Indian Territory, Cherokee Nation I found Albert Burton, born IT, OK, age 7 listed as Nephew of head of house Louis W. Headley. Albert's parents were born in IT, OK and Iowa. 1910 OK Census still has Albert in the household of Louis Headley...now the parents place of birth are shown as Tennessee for the father and Iowa for the mother. I was unable to find Frank and Mary....sorry. Our fifth grandchild was born this morning. Gabby, names to long to even try to remember so I told my daughter I was just going to call her Gabby, came into this world at five pounds two ounces. Mother and daughter are doing fine. We got a call from my son a few days ago and he and his wife have started the process to adopt a Chinese baby girl. Perhaps, if all goes as planned, we will be grafting on a new twig next summer. I sometimes wonder about a Chinese baby with an Irish last name though. Poor kid won't know what to think. *<[;oD Anyway, something to look forward to next summer. (o;]>*HUGGLES*<[:o) Billie Walsh The three best words in the English Language: "I LOVE YOU" Pass them on!

I am looking for information on Jeff Anderson who served as a medic in WWII, stationed in New Guinea. He then joined the Army Corp of Engineers and died stringing cable across a river. He live in Stilwell, Oklahoma. I understand his wife's name was Lillian (no name). Can I look up people who served in WWII or is that information still confidential? Can I look up members of the Army Corp of Engeneers? I would like also to find an obituary, but I don't have a date for him other than the reference of him being in WWII. So the accident would have happened after the war. Any help with suggestions of where to look would be very appreciated. Thank you in advance. Karen
