Cauliflower Divide into florets and wash. Blanch for 3 minutes in boiling water. Chill in iced water for 3 minutes. Drain and place on a tray in a single layer. Cover with plastic wrap. Freeze for 30 minutes. Transfer to freezer bags, remove air, label and seal. Keeps for 6 months.Jack this is how I do it. Dot in Texas > Hey, can you freeze cauliflower ? Jack, I don't know why you couldn't freeze cauliflower as you can buy it frozen. When I used to freeze veggies I would blanch them first to kill the enzymes, etc. With most veggies only do it for a short period so you don't remove the nutrients. Also drain well before freezing or you'll have a soft soggy veggie when you defrost the veggie. I like my veggies solid, not soggy. :) Hope this helps. Paula/Oregon

Oops! for the Ancestor Fair in Guthrie, I forgot to say, the doors will be open to vendors to set up as early as 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 24. For larger vendors who MUST set up the night before, we will make arrangements for that, but would prefer that all who can to set up on Sat. a.m. Nelda - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nelda Brown Alkadhimi nalkadhimi@aol.com Logan County Genealogical Society, Inc. http://www.rootsweb.com/~oklcgs

I've been told there will be famous fried pies on hand. There will be door prizes throughout the day, and one must be present to win. We have received a lot of material for our freebie table. Of course, of special interest will be the OKGen/RootsWeb area (Marti, Sharon, Billie, Jack & others (?) who will be focusing on helping people with their computer questions, and demonstrating all the help that is available on-line. Looking for information on my gg grandfather Bithel Alexander Marlow. He was born 06 JAN 1843 in Missouri, died around Christmas, December 1876. He married Mary Susan Howe in OCT 1868 in MO. Father: Wilson Williamson Marlow Mother: Elizabeth Bryant or Martha Jane Keeton Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Vicki Walberg Vacaville, CA
Paula, I know how you feel. I put in a query in the CASTLE surname of the familyhistory.com. on 2/17/01. By 3/6/01 I had an answer from a distant cousin who lives right here in OK, Bixby to be exact. I was so floored when I read it. The first thing I thought was, yeah, he has the same info I do, but how do I know for sure this is the real thing. So I started corresponding and even called him at his request this past weekend. And earlier tonight, I IMd him and we had a nice chat. His wife can pretty definetely trace her lineage back to Sequoyah. He and his wife have been doing this for 20 yrs, and he is the same age as my brother. Also, this cousin is my grandmother's (dad's side) 2nd cousin. So, that's more information I didn't have and all because of that query. I believe that was the 2nd or 3rd time in as many genealogy web sites, that I've placed an "ad". The only problem is, I'm trying to break down the brick wall on my mother's side!! Oh well, that's the way it falls. Congratulations to you, too. Eilene
