Could someone please look up Amanda Martin b. 1850 AR on the 1920 Muskogee Co. census? She was living in Agency Township on the 1910 Census along with her son, William C. MARTIN b. 1872 in AR. If you could find either or both of these Martins, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Kathy
We had a great time in Guthrie yesterday. LOTS of people there looking for help and information. "Can you help me find my grandma Maggie? We think she might have been in Oklahoma once." "I want a birth certificate for grandpa Joe. Can you get me one?" "Can you find my Indian ancestors?" "My grandpa was in Pennsylvania, can you tell me where to get a birth certificate?" *<[:oD Gotta love it!! C|o:]>* Attendance was WAY up over last year. Had a lot of neat booths set up but didn't have time to do much wondering around. Got to see my cousin Joy from Enid and mom came down for a bit. We had several members of our little group stop by and say hello [ sorry for no names, I was pretty frazzled from problems and seekers after a short time ]. I even had one nice lady asking for help with Korean research. Problem was that when I found something that looked promising she couldn't read Korean. Seemed to me like we had a crowd around the table all day. IMHO - we need more people that are good at online research to woman/man the computers. I can usually find something but I'm not all that good at knowing where to look. A lot of my advice yesterday seemed to revolve around telling people that what was online was only what was put there by someone that had to find it first and to go to the county and search through the paper records. [ Gee, you mean I got to get out of my house and do some real research!! :o{ ] Had some frustration with the software to get the whole thing set up and I only forgot two cables from home that I had to go back for. But by noon had most things working. I thought Sharon C was going to cry for a while there. [ "I can't get online" {:,o( ] When I did get it up and running Marti couldn't even get her out for a smoke break. *<[:oD I wanted to get one computer setup on the chat room, but by the time I could get everything working we had so many people that I just never got the time. [ I hate software problems ] OH Well, next year we will do it bigger and better. (o:]>* Huggles *<[:o) Billie The three best words in the English Language: "I LOVE YOU" Pass them on!

One item I purchased was a butter spatula that fit the lip of a one pound butter container. the handle came off and makes it unusable now and I need another. How would I purchase another? Evening all, I need some suggestions from you. I am trying to locate info on my great grandfather John Morgan Tennell. He has been hiding really good! I found him on the 1870 Breckinridge Co. KY with his family at age 9. From then on, he is one big blank! The family story is he went from KY to TX to OK. But he apparently avoided the census. I haven't found him or his family in 1880, although there were some land transactions in the 1880's by his father in KY. He does not show up in 1900 TX or Indian Territory. ditto 1910. I have him on the one census, his death certficate that shows he died in 1938 and a photo of his grave stone in Allen Cemetery, Allen, Pontotoc Co., a copy of the family page from his family bible and a picture of him. That's all I have to say this man lived at one time. One of my cousins' said he was living with them when he died. She said her mother had tried to get him to apply for the Old Age Pension, OK had back in the '30's, but he wouldn't. He said he "didn't want the Gov. to know anything about him and he didn't want to have anything to do With the Gov.". And ya know? I believe him!! Maybe I have been looking on the "wrong side" of the law! <g> Any ideas? Some indications are he moved into Indian Territory before 1900. Also, I think he was married 2 times, somewhere. His wife, Mattie Bell Watters/Waters was still in her parents household in 1900, Choctaw Nation, I. T. She was listed as age 30 and single. Help! Where do I go from here?
