I hadn't heard the saying, but it's true you can tell when the wind picked up West Texas dust on its way to Dallas. It doesn't happen as much now as it did during Uncle Jim's Dust Bowl years! Keplin, I would be more than happy to do this for you as I only live 15 mi. from the south McIntosh County line in Pittsburg Co. Right now I am in New Mexico visiting with my son and grandsons and won't be back home until about the 3rd of May. As soon as I get my bills paid I can take a run to Hanna and get your pics if you haven't found anyone to do it sooner. Let me know, and please remind me as I tend to have so many irons in the fire that I forget about half of what I'm supposed to do. My Uncle Jim born 1908 used to tell me you could tell which way the wind was blowning by the color of the dust the wind brings with it. I forget now which way and which color. Hi Jacque, I haven't watched the news yet today. But of recent, Mother Earth is really doing some yelling! Maybe it's time we all "listen up!" Anyway, I'm in northern Idaho in the boonies - away from everything - except the weather. So far, it has only snowed and it is windy and chilly. Nothing of any danger here. Thanks for caring!! :-) You take care, too, okay??!! Becky >Becky...they were showing pictures of Denver on the news today. Sure would >like to see some snow around this part of TX sometime. It has been beautiful here in the DFW Metroplex today. Stormy last nite but that's when I sleep the best. The temp has dropped to the low 70's....much better than the mid 80's we've been having. I enjoyed sitting out on the porch this am before heading for work and then when I came home, took a book and a glass of ice tea out and spent an hour before time to come back in and do all my inside stuff. If you aren't able to find someone here, you might try this website: www.HeadStoneHunter.com It's for people requesting pictures of a gravesite, or volunteering to take pictures. I was able to get a picture taken at an out of state cemetery using this service... and have volunteered to take pics myself. Ray --- "Keplin K. West Texas had storms during the night and the reached Waxahachie about 4am. It poured! Some areas had hail from what I saw on the TV. My backyard looks like a lake. We have lots of yardwork to do but our soil is very wet from all the previous rains and now this one has made it very sloppy again...this ole West Texas gal doesn't know what to do with all this rain! ;-) And they say we are going to have more this weekend. -- Peggy <'}}}}>< Winton Family Homepage http://sites.netscape.net/mawpeggywilson/homepage

I wish we had sunshine here. as I sit & right this we're having hail & rain hit. Its windy & very cold. But hopefully the new weather man will be right about having a warm weekend? But Spring has left us again :( they're talking about snow. So, besides staying in front the miserable weather I'm trying to play catch up from my homework, doing house work & working on bills. Such fun (not) eventually I'll get back to concentrating on Genealogy :) Alli ----- Original Message ----- From: <Ch2mglider@aol.com> To: <OKGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2001 6:58 PM Subject: [OKGEN ] RE: Where is everyone > Yeah, we're just now beginning to see a little sunshine here in Portland, but > the wind is cool. > > Living on our boat, there is no yard work and my flower planters are still > blooming from last year.
