    3. I got this same thing and deleted it at once. The other day the suppose sender was cunninngham. I am only getting this from the OKGen. Everytime I send a message to the list the next day I get a message back with this stupid attachment virus. Now we all know that rootsweb does not send attachments so how do these get sent? these come directly to me in answer to an OKGen posting but only at the bottom is the Look at attachment. So my question I guess is how does it get itself attached to OKGen messages?

    3. Billie: I live in North Carolina and my husband retired from the Air Force after 23 years last Fall. He was told to take his discharge papers to the County Court House to be recorded. He did so and a few days later received two certified copies. Maybe the military has gone back to this system. If anything ever happens, God forbid, the grown kids and I will know exactly where to get a copy from. Hope this helps others. 2. That's what we were told about my husbands discharge papers just about a month ago in Dallas. He was discharged in 1961 and they said they did not have any room to store them. I have included them with his part of my genealogy records so that there will be some sort of record kept. His records were destroyed when the office they were in burned a few years ago and we were lucky to be able to find his original ones. 3. Shelly, check the county clerks office in the county where he lived. There is something about when the military come home, or got out of service, they had to record their discharge papers with the county clerk. I know my uncles did in Kiowa Co.(WWII), and asked my son about it when he got out last year. He said they still had to do, so would record his in the county in FL where he was going to work. If you find his discharge papers, it will tell you the places he was sent, along with service #, etc. Worth a shot. Just a thought. 2. I might suggest that you and everyone else check that their Virus Scan is updated. This latest virus just showed up a week or so ago and some of the various scan programs took a few days to get updates to prevent the virus. If your scan hasn't been updated you will not be protected. You should always update your scanner often, as new ones are coming out everyday. Sorry, to be sending a "no, no" to the list, but this seems to be hitting the genealogy community and presenting it's self in ways that would make you think it could be genealogy related. Knowing how Rootsweb's lists will not allow attachments protecting us from a virus we let our guards down and forget that an attachment will not come from the lists. Rootsweb has a great Computer list that you can join that helps a lot on various computer problems and some wonderful people on the list willing to help. Just a suggestion I got from the other lists.
