No they don't Billie. They made an announcement a few days ago that they were going to have to start charging for all of their services due to the bad economy. I even tried to pay for a year's subscription today and it got me all fouled up so bad I just clicked off their web page. My stepfather is going in for at least quadruple bypass surgery Tuesday morning. I will be pretty much tied up with them every opportunity for the next few weeks. There is a minute chance that I could go but I'm not planning it right now. I really enjoy people. They never cease to amaze me. Bill

I guess whats needed at this point is a count of those able to come. Then a choice can be made as to which one. I still think June 3 looks like a good time. Now for the bad news. I won't be able to come to this years picnic.*<[:o( I hate to miss it but with my families health problems it looks like it won't work out. Bill
InfoBeat News - Morning Coffee Edition - 5/7/2001 Jefferson, Hemings descendants meet CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Descendants of Sally Hemings attended a gathering of Thomas Jefferson's relatives Sunday despite tensions about whether the third president fathered any of his slave's children. The groups met outside the family estate at a gathering of the Monticello Association, an exclusive group that claims direct lineage to Jefferson and the right to be buried at his family cemetery. A report released last month by some Jefferson descendants asserted that the Hemings relatives should be turned away because their ties to Jefferson are based mostly on oral history, not science. For generations, Hemings' descendants passed down stories about their ties to the president. A DNA study in 1998 concluded that a Jefferson male was indeed the father of Eston Hemings, Sally's youngest son. While president, Jefferson was publicly accused of fathering Hemings' children and never denied it.
I figured it was something like that. Mustang is a nice little town just southwest of Oklahoma City and straight south of Yukon. Every year there's a Mustang [ the car ] Club that has a shindig there. Bill Walsh
I know of no school records online anywhere. Just out of curiosity, why would it sound funny for brothers to go to school in Mustang? No offense meant. Bill Walsh

----- Original Message ----- From: Art Nelson To: ART NELSON Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2001 9:44 AM Subject: Fw: GI insurance Gotta love a good salesman. Art Airman Jones was assigned to the induction center, where he advised new recruits about their government benefits, especially their GI insurance. It wasn't long before Captain Smith noticed that Airman Jones was having a staggeringly high success-rate, selling insurance to nearly 100% of the recruits he advised. Rather than ask about this, the Captain stood in the back of the room and listened to Jones' sales pitch. Jones explained the basics of GI Insurance to the new recruits, and then said, "If you have GI Insurance and go into battle and are killed, the government has to pay $200,000 to your beneficiaries. If you don't have GI insurance, and you go into battle and get killed, the government only has to pay a maximum of $6000." "Now," he concluded, "which group do you think they are going to send into battle first?"
Sharyn, Info printed and I will go look Monday, unless I can get away from the family today. On the PUCKETT line were there a set of twin girls by chance? I have a friend that has a grandmother with that name I think she is a twin. Anyway I'll let you know what I find when I go. Tina
Tina......I'm so excited......well, at least thrilled...with the Shawnee High School yearbook information! Don't laugh....it is just pretty cool that your library has these copies and one of the dates connects for me. I don't mind laughter at the photos.....you should here my 16 yr. old daughter and her friends laugh at my high school yearbooks from the early 60's.......with the helmet hair and everyone in sweaters and pearls. Girls always in dresses and boys in coats and ties..........Oh my gosh! .....now there is a radical clothes statement! <:) Anyway.....my parents should be in the 1943 Shawnee High Year Book......plus uncles and cousins of theirs. Would it be too much trouble to look for 4 or 5 people? 1943 was my mother's senior year......however she was a year and a half older than my dad so I doubt if he were a senior. He did play in the school band so there may be a group shot or something. My mother was Sybil Irene PUCKETT.......I know she graduated 1943, maybe with honors as she was in the National Honor Society. My father was James Richard CANTWELL.......I'd look for him in the Jr. Class for that year. Our records show he graduated in 1944. Or a band photo...he played clarinet. My mother's brother may or may not be there.......he would have been a freshman.......they may not have even bothered with photos of underclassmen in those days. His name was Hollis Ray (Pete) PUCKETT. The other two are cousins......one is DELBERT GENO....the other is DEANNA GRIGSBY .......they may neither one be there.......and I don't know the class, if any, sorry. Thanks ever so much for being the Shawnee contact person. Sharyn CANTWELL Baker Always looking for BUGG, PUCKETT, CANTWELL, BLANCETT, BAILEY, BAKER, GAGE, CLAYTON, THOMPSON, TEAGUE, MIXER, JOHNSON, REESE, CAUGHRON, JETER and many more.... s
