As long as we are talking about new family members.....I HAVE A NEW COUSIN! I think she told me she was 63 but she's new to me. Needless to say, this is the first contact with that part of the family other than family lore. Vickie Neill Taylor flip@okplus.com
I just thought I'd let you all know that the old Funeral Records that had been closed in Hughes County are now on the SAVED list. The first two books have now been scanned and the others will be done as soon as time allows. For what it's worth, the books are being scanned, one page at a time and then stored on CD. An index of each book is being compiled for a reference. It is slow going but it is going. Happy Wednesday! Vickie Neill Taylor flip@okplus.com

I read somewhere in the past several months that duplicate copies of the burned Army records had just been found. Maybe your uncle's records were in that lot? _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
I am helping my cousin try to get all of her information together for her Degree of Indian Blood Card. She is having a hard time because her Dad's Middle name is wrong on her Birth Cert. My question is, did they have to have a birth certificate in the 40's to get their Soc. Sec. card? Even though my Dad has a delayed Birth. Cert. they can find no record of my Uncle's. Also, I noticed that 80% of the Army records for 1912-1960 were burned in a fire in 1973 if we have problems getting Military Records any other ideas. Thanks !!! Sharon Beamer Oregon

Josie: I know that greatgrandmother feeling. When my first grandchild arrived,I THOUGHT there couldn't be anything more wonderful BUT when Bailey made his appearance 3 years ago, I KNEW there couldn't be anything more wonderful. Know those pictures also made your day. Sounds like May has been a great month for you.
