    3. Sue, I looked up JOHN WISE in the 1920 census for OK and there were 10 listed. I checked each one and only one had a wife named Lucy (variation of Lucinda). However, if your relative was not African American, he's not yours. The listing was: John H. Wise age 33 born Mississippi Lucy M. wife Wesley son Chester? son Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, OK Pg. 19a E.D. 136 If you want me to check out the remaining states I'll need an approximate age or birthplace, etc. and I'd be happy to check the indexes and look for a match with the wife's name. My great-great grandma was named Lucinda and was called "Cindy, Cindea, Lucinda" in different documents. Let me know if I can help. 2. Charmaine Keith
    3. Very big THANK YOU goes out to Susanne Hamlet Shatto. Susanne has transcribed the index to the 1930 Census for Atoka Co. Oklahoma Districts 1 thru 18 are available for viewing. This might be a great help for those researching their Choctaw families as Atoka Co. is part of Choctaw Nation. Many new names have been added with the 1930 census index. The search for Atoka Co. should be able to pick up these names by the end of the day. Also Atoka Co. has been redesigned, much easier to navigate then in the past. 2. jnsford
    3. Hello Listmembers I wish to obtain some information and hope that someone will have some suggestions or be able to assist in finding the family. I am hoping there is an on-line death index for Oklahoma from 1900-1930. John E Wise and wife Lucinda were living in Lindsay Twp, Lindsay City, Garvin Co OK 1910-1920 this is a known fact. Since they do not appear any where else, it seems to me that this is where they would have passed on. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, I can't seem to find anythign on them. Does anyone have access to the 1910, 1920 census and has some time (smile) to look up and see where JOHN E WISE and LUCINDA was living in Oklahoma at that time, should still be Garvin Co Oklahoma. Thank you Sue

    2. Margie Campbell
    3. If the information on birth/death indexes placed online are from newspapers, individual records, or any other source besides the county or state registrars..they can be kept online. Rootsweb & others have started putting these online as they are taken from cemetery books, etc. This law was pretty much gutted.. Yes, I would need to show ID & sign a form if I do a lookup for you... but I sign my name now.. and I even put my phone number on the forms..(I submit several and then come back another day to look at them). This law is not much different than the present one.. other than the maiden name/ss# issue. I think SS# is a non necessary item anyways... I have checked my own family on the CA death index... clicked the SS # and gotten a Not found... (due to human error in recording the #). Maiden names are a loss... but if you find the death date... you can usually get an obit... and it may have that information. ... if not check with the cemetery of record..they probably do. 3. I am hoping that someone on this list may be able to help me. My gggrandmother was Elizabeth Durham, mailden name Wright. She was born in Iron County Missouri in 1848. Her family, Father was Hugh Smith Wright and her mother was Hannah Snider Wright. They moved to Oklahoma Territory some time after Elizabeths birth, place and exact date unknown. I do know that they moved to Danville, Vermilion Co. sometime before 1868 because that is where my gggrandmother married Samuel Durham. I am interested in having help to see if Hugh and Hannah Wright with at least Elizabeth were in Oklahoma Territory in 1850 or 1860. I can not find them in Vermilion Co. Danville in 1860. I found a Hugh Wright with wife Hannah in Missouri in 1850 but cannot verify they are my Wrights. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. 3. Not likely there were post offices for the small communities I listed in Freestone, Taylor or Comanche counties. If he resided there he would prob. have been listed as living where his mail was sent to a town close by. I would think Mt. Pleasant in Titus County is probably what you are seeking...appears he is either not listed in current directory or is in a rest home...did not see him in SSDI.
