    3. There is no viewable/searchable census records for Okalhoma/Indian territory for 1880 and 1890. Marietta, Oklahoma was in the Chickasaw Nation, then became into Love County, upon Statehood in 1907. If you want to follow the path I did to find this information, I passed up a GREAT many links, you might find of interest. Just go to rootsweb.com, half way down the home page is 'town/county database' click on it, type in 'mar' in the town section and 'ok' in the state. This will list all the towns starting with those three letters in OK, Marietta is listed in love co. click on the love, and will take you to that county page. In the love CO page is a link to chickasaw nation's page, in the paragraph, this is where I went. Have fun good luck Tori http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb/census/indian_territory.htm _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? 2. I am looking for my greatgreatgrandfather, George W. Bucy. I have been told that he and his family may have moved to Maryetta (?) Oklahoma in 1875. Does anyone have any info on that? I have checked the LDS census site and can't find him. Of course, Oklahoma/Indian Territory wasn't listed. Thank you Pat Kramer

    1. [OKGEN ] Springer, Carter Co., OK History request
    2. Janice
    3. I am hoping someone out there can aid me in my quest here!! I am trying to find out the history of Springer, Carter Co. OK between the dates of the mid 1880's to around 1920. What I am looking for exactly is when was Springer developed as a town? What was life like for those people who lived in Springer during the time period I've mentioned. Did the railroad come through Springer? Did it stop in Springer? Did the folks there have to go to Ardmore for supplies? You get the idea. I am requesting this information so that I may add it to my family tree (kinda boring if I just have a bunch of names of my ancestors, and small snips of their life here and there) I would like for my future generations to get an good understanding of how life was like. Oh, and if anyone has any early photographs of Springer, I would love to have a copy of them. Am willing to pay for copy fees and postage if necessary. Thanks!!! Regards, Janice

    1. [OKGEN ] Heritage Day Rally Tue March 11 2003
    2. Frederick Dittmar
    3. I apologize to those of you who are receiving this message more than one time. We think it is important and it will be sent to about (40) OK-xxxxxx mail lists. Fred ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Fellow Genealogists, You are invited to a Heritage Day Rally at the Oklahoma State Capitol on Tuesday, March 11. Sponsored by the Oklahoma Historical Society and a coalition of Oklahoma historical, genealogical and lineage organizations to show appreciation for our history and support for the preservation of that history, the day will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the auditorium of the Wiley Post Building of the Oklahoma Historical Society at 2100 N. Lincoln, Oklahoma City. After receiving details about the legislation needed, the attendees will proceed to the Capitol to speak with their legislators about the importance of completing the funding for the new Oklahoma History Center by authorizing the sale of the final $18 million in bonds needed to complete the project. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the newly reopened Research Library and also to take a "hard hat" tour of the new History Center site. The OHS parking lot will be reserved for your convenience and shuttle vans will be available to move you around once you are parked. All three venues -- lobbying at the Capitol, the Library tour and the hard hat tour -- will be available beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. We hope you can join us at the rally and encourage you to invite others who believe in the future of Oklahoma and who have an interest in her past. If you cannot be there, you can still support the effort by writing, calling or e-mailing your legislators to urge their support. For more information, please call the Oklahoma Historical Society at 405-521-2491. We hope to see you there. Sincerely, Oklahoma Genealogical Society Board of Directors P.O. 1. [OKGEN ] Parsons marriage abt 1924
    2. The Prices
    3. Hello, My name is Donna Price. I'm trying to find information concerning EMMETT GLEN PARSONS, born July 13, 1900 in Lincoln, County, Missouri. He was the son of JOHN HENRY PARSONS and NANCY LOUISE DAVIS PARSONS. His birthdate was obtained from a family Bible. His death was reported in the MONTGOMERY COUNTY STANDARD, Montgomery County, MO as March 12, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA. I found Emmett with his wife, ELLEN, born abt. 1906 in OKLAHOMA (mother and father both born in OK) and his son, John, born abt. 1925 in California, in the 1930 Federal Census for California. I have been unable to find a marriage record for Emmett and Ellen in Missouri or California. I'm hoping that Oklahoma may have an index of marriages that can be searched. After Emmett's death, no one in the family heard from Ellen or John again. An older cousin remembers going to his funeral, but cannot remember where. Emmett's death certificate cannot be found in Los Angeles death records. Any help or suggestions would certainly be appreciated. Thanks, Donna
