Marti, Thank you for telling Gin exactly where it is. I tried to send her a map, but I don't think it got thru. I am new to the site and haven't had a chance to introduce myself yet. I have several spots at USGenWeb and have been doing genealogy for about 12 yrs. now. It is my passion. I am a native Oklahoman, but have lived out of state for many years. I am now back, living between Skiatook and Collinsville. I hope we have a long and fruit association. I am tring to locate some info or obit for my great aunt Clara Ann Selken (or Selkens/Selkin/Selkins). The SSDI gave her date of death as Feb 11, 2002. and she was born in January 1903 in Obion Co, TN. and her last residence as being in Oklohoma City, in Cleveland County ?, Oklahoma. I am assuming that she likely died in Oklahoma City (confirmed by a 2nd cousin) and was likely buried there. I have no idea what cemetery she would have been buried in. Is there anyone who could help locate an obit for her? Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, Edward, Sr.

July 12, 1906 Broken Arrow Indian Territory ( Tulsa Co, OK) was 3 years old. In celebration and as a means to promote Broken Arrow, the Broken Arrow Ledger newspaper published a special 8 page edition. The 8 pages are made up of sketches and photos of local businessmen and photos of businesses and town residences. The sketches often give information as to where the man was born, where he lived previously and what business he had been associated with and/or owned. This is an absolute gold mine for the people who had family in Broken Arrow in the early 1900s. Even if a family member is not mentioned the information is wonderful for gaining an idea of what the area was like at the time. I have transcribed all of the paper except for page 8. I've not yet attempted to scan in any of the photos - most of which are very dark on my copies. But be that as it may - I invite you to drop by and see what you can find. ( I have submitted the site to the search engine for indexing and hopefully it will be finished shortly) http://www.rootsweb.com/~oktulsa2/newspapers/ If you are interested in old newspaper transcriptions for Muskogee Co, OK and early Indian Territory news from around the Territory - go here http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~haas and click on Newspaper Abstracts. Just go to rootsweb.com, half way down the home page is 'town/county database' click on it, type in 'mar' in the town section and 'ok' in the state.
