    3. I would like to establish contact with anyone related to or interested in the following early settlers of Garfield County: William Alfred Pope, born in October 1865 in Gentry County, MO, died October 1934 in Lawton, OK, buried in the Enid Cemetery; his wife, Arnetta Viola Walker, born April 1871 in Peoria County, IL, died in September 1931 in Enid, OK, buried in the Enid Cemetery; John Pope, born in December 1833 in Hendricks County, IN, died 1923 in Garfield County, OK , buried in the Enid Cemetery; and, Guy LeRoy Walker, born in 1863 in Illinois, died in Garfield County, date of death and place of burial unknown. William Alfred Pope and Arnetta Viola Walker moved from the farm of his father, Francis Marion Pope, in Sumner County, KS, to Garfield County sometime between 1898 and 1900. They lived in Kremlin and Hillsdale, OK, before moving to Enid. Their children were named May, Wilma, Lolas, and Alfred LeRoy. The John Pope in whom I am interested was the first cousin once removed of William Alfred Pope, and the son of his grand uncle, William Pope, born in North Carolina in 1812, died abt. 1850 in Gentry County, MO. John Pope may have participated in the Cherokee Strip Land Rush. John Pope and his wife, Elizabeth, had at least 5 children, whose names were Capitola, Robert, George, William, and Katie. Guy LeRoy Walker was the brother of William Alfred Pope's wife, Arnetta Viola Walker. He was unmarried.
