Hello all, First a big thanks to Lois on her Waukomis Cemetry information!!! It contained new info on Ruth Morene SLUSHER and her two husbands, John T EDWARDS and Byron J. LOVELL, conferming info on the others she sent. Secondly, am very interested in any information re the SLUSHER Cancer Clinic in Enid. One of my Enid, OK, SLUSHER relatives is "Doctor" William Aurhur SLUSHER, s/o Afred Elijah SLUSHER and Elizaeth "Eliza" Jane (KELLOGG) SLUSHER (Eliza and dau, Ida Mae/May SLUSHER, are named on the 1893 Cherokee Strip Land Run Memorial in downtown Medford, OK). Dr William Authur SLUSHER was b 7 Mar 1882 in Blanchester,Clinton Co, OH, - d (per SSDI) Feb 1970 as a resident of Enid.- He m 4 Dec 1910 in Enid to Sarah Margaret BRIANT - Sarah b 5 May 1887 in MO - Sarah is thought to have owned/operated(?) a beauty parlor in Enid. Any info on a SLUSHER Cancer Clinic in Enid would be most appreciated as the good Doctor SLUSHER was probably connected to said clinic (?). Regards, Otis SLUSHER (in FLORIDA)

I am letting people know that a new County List for Genealogical Discussion & research have been started in Oklahoma: OKGRANT [Grant County]. I expect that as a rural county it may not be thet active, but I believe in time it can be very helpful. Subcribing is by sending an e-mail message with the word "subscribe" as the only word in the body of a message with no subject to: (mail mode): "okxxxxxx-l-request@rootsweb.com" (digest mode): "okxxxxxx-d-request@rootsweb.com" Posting queries is by subscribers is to: "okxxxxxx-l@rootsweb.com" where "okxxxxxx" is the list name ["okgrant"] I would like to announce the startup of this new list so that people with an interest in genealogy in Grant County can be made aware of it. I hope that you can include a reference to it in the Grant County GenWeb site. Thanks again. Ms. Rowan, Thank you for your reply. I was a little quick on the defensive. Sorry. I will am happy to hear that Ponca City has information we can use. I will check it out. Thank You. Lois
I hope I didn't sound too ungratful for the work you do! I know of some places that charge $25 to $35 for copies of documents. Yes you have done FREE look ups for me too .... I remember your name! I agree it would cost us our jobs to do nothing but LOOK UPS. Where was my head when I wrote that to the LIST. I really was just trying to say the Ponca City library had a good line too. Please accept my apology for being so short and ungrateful in my lines. Thank you for EVERTHING you and others do. For lookups that I have information at home, Enid Cemetery Books, tax records etc. BUT, the cost of printing and look up time is something I don't have an abundance of. The fee we charge helps to build up our material to make our Library a better place to research. If we didn't charge a fee for research we would have to quite our jobs and do nothing else. Right now I can't afford to do that. Father White could not find any birth records for Stephen Pfeifer, Maria Feigel or Theresa Pfeifer but did find a death for Chrisitan Feigel. Question? Is there another source that I could use to see if I can find the city of birth. I know that it was Indian Territory 1900-1903, and we have them in McAlester, Ok in 1903 with Christian's death. Maria born 31 Dec 1902 Theresa Elizabeth born 29 DEC 1900 Any ideas will be greatful, Arlene in PHX crowfoa@aol.com
