The "brush arbor" meetings I am familiar with were for revival meetings. Church folks erected an arbor outdoors made of limbs and brush and held revival meetings. These meetings were usually held outdoors because the weather was too blamed hot to be inside. I think brush arbor meetings were held for other purposes, like family dinners, picnics, etc. Our Native Americans may have also used them for their gatherings, too. Wanda Wiggins-Havlick
