    1. [OKCREEK-L] Bristow Newspaper obit lookup request
    2. Tristia Watson
    3. The following obit was taken from the Bristow Newspaper on or around April 22, 1956. Bristow Newspaper Mrs. Helen Thompson, a long time Bristow resident, died Sunday morning in Houston, Tex., while visiting in the home of a daughter, Mrs. C. C. Armstrong. She had recently suffered a stroke. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dunaway Funeral home with the Reverend Clifford Funk officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn cemetery with Dunaway Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Thompson, who came to Oklahoma before statehood, was a native of Tennessee. Her husband, the late John Edward Thompson, long-time Bristow area farmer, died here in 1938. She was a member of the Nazarene church. Survivors are four sons, Justin E. Thompson, Tulsa; Haskell and E. L. Thompson, Sand Springs, and I.B. Thompson, Indigo, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Armstrong of Houston, and Mrs. Marvin Dammon, Abaecon, N.J.; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. -- I would like to find the obit of her husband, "the late John Edwards Thompson, long-time Bristow area farmer". J.E. Thompson died March 20, 1938, but a request to the Historical Society for dates around that time did not produce any hits. Anyone have any other suggestions or ideas on how to find his obit? (Anyone have access to newspaper archives?) P.S. I'm also interested in contacting any 'cousins' who might also be working on this line of Thompsons. :-) ----- Tristia Watson - tristiaw@hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
