    1. Creek County oil fields
    2. Drumright was also a boom town in the 'teens. My dad arrived in Drumright on the first train into the town. It was in 1915, and he was about six years old. There are murals in the bank in Drumright showing the Cimarron River, north of Oilton, with drilling platforms so close together you could almost walk across the river without getting your feet wet. Does anyone out there know anything about an oilfield fire in which a tank burned and was extinguished by a man going up on the tank and smothering the fire with something. My brothers and I have an ongoing discussion about whether the fire was in a tank truck or an oilfield tank. My grandfather is the man who extinguished the flames. _BuzzOK@aol.com_ (mailto:BuzzOK@aol.com)
