According to the 1926 Sapulpa City Directory, Fred W. and Ruth E. Mansfield lived at 620 N. 2nd Street in Sapulpa. His occupation was listed as oil field worker. I found him again in the 1930 City Directory living at 605 N. 1st Street. Did not find him after that year. Doris Yocham Sapulpa Historical Society

Marti: Is it possible to add another name to the Rootsweb roster? A relative of my husband's, Joel Orcutt, has done tremendous research on the Orcutt and Yocham families, and he found my name on the cemetery records that you posted for me. I believe he could benefit from the group. His e-mail address is: joelorcutt@sbcglobal.net. Thanks. Doris Yocham Sapulpa Historical Society
Our County Coordinators work very hard and diligently so you don't have to, they sit up late at night while the rest of the house is sleeping so you can see a list of cemeteries, census records, and so on. They renew that search feature so you can view it quickly, they inform you of new items, answer questions, even help you find things you may have overlooked in your own research. How about you thank them properly and vote for their county and let them know that the county they maintain has really helped you in some manner. Coordinators are not paid, they are kind volunteers that care as much as you do and go that extra mile. So come on, follow that link and vote for your favorite county. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb/nominate.html This response is from an email received at okgenweb1@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? My uncle Henry O. Howell is probably listed under another's head of household in some census as you suggested. Our Web TV is shut out of many Ancestry.com affiliated websites so we cannot access sites you probably can. My grandmother was Indian (Ollie Anne Howell born 11/18/1882 North Range Indian Territory) and Henry was a couple of years older than she. I don't know where North Range Indian Territory was. Perhaps you do? Both Henry and Ollie spoke Cherokee but might have been half Choctaw and white. I appreciated your info and would appreciate any more that might come to light. From Charles and Mary Ray Sargent May God Bless You
Dear Mary Ray, I'm a big fan of censuses in genealogy. Did a quick search on Ancesty.com of the 1920 census for Henry Howell in Oklahoma: Name, Home in 1920 (City,County,State), Estimated Birth Year, Birthplace, Race Howell, Henry S, Bristow, Creek, OK, 1886, Illinois, White Howell, Henry, Jacobs, Hughes, OK, 1874, Arkansas, White Howell, Henry S, Gibbs, Johnston, OK, 1883, Texas, White Howell, Henry, Okmulgee, Okmulgee, OK, 1871, Arkansas, White Howell, Henry H, Okmulgee, Okmulgee, OK, 1840, Illinois, White Howell, Henry C, Brent, Sequoyah, OK, 1856, Arkansas, Colored Howell, Henry, Long, Sequoyah, OK, 1849, Tennessee, White Do any of these match your great-uncle? If not, the possibilities include (1) that he died between 1917 & 1920, (2) that he left OK before the census, (3) that he was living in someone else's household (The index for this census is only heads of households.), or (4) ????. I didn't look at the actual census images or more detail that would have included occupation, etc. 1880 seems a little early for a non-indian birth in Indian Terrritory -- possible, but might have been elsewhere (AR, TX, etc.). For the parents, try looking at censuses for sometime when you know they're alive (as in right after the birth of your grandmother). Then work forward until you don't find them anymore to determine a 10-year window. -ralph ----- Original Message ----- From: "mary Ray Sargent" <madpack@webtv.net> To: <OKCREEK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 13, 2004 1:17 AM Subject: [OKCREEK-L] Looking for a Henry Howell > Looking for infomation on my Great Uncle Henry Howell in OK my > grandmother Last seen him in about 1917 when she left ok for WA after > husband Marquis Laudette died.
