In 1925 it became a school for boys with a capacity of 110 Euchees and Creeks. The girls were sent to Eufaula. This arrangement was carried on until Creek funds were exhausted. In 1928 the school opened with Federal support and received in addition to Creek and Euchee pupils, Cherokee and Seminole boys. In 1929 ninth-grade boys were placed in the public schools of Sapulpa. The Euchee Mission was abolished in 1947 bye governmental order and pupils absorbed by the Sapulpa school system. This comes from the Sapulpa History Book Vol. 1. Joyce S. [email protected]
Marti has the 2 Sapulpa Historical Society history books, too..... I looked up the names of Delmar, Cramer, Pyles etc but did not find them in the index. There is a little bit about the Euchee Mission in Vol. 1. Also, in the Sapulpa phone book is a listing for Euchee Tribe of Indians, 2 S. Independence, Sapulpa.....918-224-3065 Joyce Steavenson [email protected]

Hi Jerri, Did you have a chance to look at my posts before, of the Welkers & Parrotts, Darling & Stream. Do you know anything of them? If you come across anything in Creek County about them, I sure would appreciate it if you would pass it on to me. Thanks again, Debra.

Hi all, Well, bit by bit, inch by inch, (personally I would be thrilled with any info on Alice Robertson). Orville Mobley b.abt 1933 Kathrine Mobley b. abt 1940 Were the childred of George Mobley age? and Sister Mobley (still can't find her first name). My mother went to school with Orville and that is where I got the info. If she remembers any more I will contact you. Best of Wishes, Diana
Marti and the group, I forgot to mention that I have some copies of old maps. Arkansas 1886, Indian Territory 1886, 1915 Ok atlas , showing Railroads of that time. Map of Ok Missions, Forts, Camps, Trails and Fights earliest date is 1824. And a map of Oklahoma Ghost Towns. If anyone needs a look up just let me know. Til Later Linda Larman
My father is Jack Vickers who is from the area. His father was James Vickers and he lived in the area during the 30's. Don't know much about my father's family. He does have at least 1 sister and maybe a brother or two. Dad wa born in 1936? Thomas Vickers

Thanks! Jerri Yes, He lives in Sapulpa now and is married to Betty Jean for the last 30 + years
Any kin to Marvin Vickers, Faye Vickers Rowell and Julie Vickers Gregory? To the above question: I looked at the pictures I have -- only a couple have names on them. Of those two, one is Blaine VICKERS, and the other is Jack VICKERS. I think they were also related to the FLINCHUMs(sp?). One picture is of Swan HARN and his wife Donna FLINCHUM HARN. These are very old pictures--probably between 1900 and 1915. There are a few others without names on them that I remember my great aunt telling me were FLINCHUMs. And, I'm thinking that they probably lived in Creek County, possibly around the Olive area. Having reached the forgetful fifties, I forgot to add REDUS to the COTHAM, STAFFORD, WILLARD list of names I am researching. My grandmother is a REDUS. The COTHAMs are her ancestors; the STAFFORDS and WILLARDS are my grandfathers. They came to Creek Co between 1915 and 1920. Linda Stafford Israel
My grandfather's brother married a Wiggins for a second wife. Dona C. Wiggins b. 31 Mar 1892 Cass Co., MO md Arthur Clarence "Red" Wilson. Dona died 25 Dec 1963 in Henryetta, OK (where's that?) and is buried in South Heights Cem, Sapulpa. They lived in Sapulpa and owned Red's BBQ. Anyone know anything else about Dona? I would love to volunteer to transcribe some of the census records. If someone points me in the right direction, I probably can figure out what to do. I can type and am willing to volunteer. Count me in, too. And, I would be willing to donate $10 to the cause. Thanks! Jerri

My family is WIGGINS. Turnbo says that Joe, Robert and Billier Wiggins, sons of my ggrandfather (Henry) were buried in the Yocum cemetery. Does your Marion list show any Wiggins'. Specifically Henry, Mary (Polly), Enoch, Elick, Charlie or Ned? Ned was my grandfather. We did not know grandpa had any other siblings besides these three. ANY information you might have would be appreciated. I'm not sure how the Wiggins' and Yocum's connected, but I think it was through the Coker family. Mary (Polly) Wiggins was a Coker. Thanks for any information you may have, and if not, I really appreciate your time in responding to my original query. Wanda Wiggins-Havlick
