I am looking for information concerning James Martin and his wife Lucy Crain who lived in Bristow in 1910-1920 era. I've been told they had a sawmill or lumber yard or something of that nature. Family legend says that the operation failed and James and Lucy ended up in the poor farm. I am trying to find out just when they passed away and would like to know of any funeral homes who would have handled the arrangements. Any or all help appreciated. Sylvia, Wow, a response so soon! Actually I do not have a lot about Ella (Ellar). I have just begun to tie into this part of my family. According to my aunt, Ella and her husband, William Talbott moved to Akron, Ohio. They are said to have had several children, one of whom was William Talbott, Jr. There was also a son named Morris (Maurice) Talbott who lived in Akron. I will try to make a connection with a rootsweb in the Akron area. Maybe something will come up. Let's keep in contact. Betty (Adkins) Taylor
I am new to the list. I am looking for family of WILLIAM ADKINS. I hope the following information will help make a connection to someone. The family of William ADKINS left Whitley County, Kentucky in the early 1900's. They were going to Oklahoma and settled in the area of Drumright. Two of the older sons in the family remained in Whitley County. They were married and had their own families established and chose to stay where they were. If you have any information about this family, I would appreciate hearing from you. I will gladly share the information I have. 1. William ADKINS b. Dec 1849 KY + Martha (or Mahala) CLARK b. Aug 1854 d. 1929 2. Elijah Alfred ADKINS (My grandfather) b. 25 Mar 1878 KY + Hattie WORLEY 2. James B. ADKINS b. Jan 1880 KY 2. Samuel ADKINS b. Jan 1882 KY 2. Rebecca ADKINS b. May 1884 KY 2. Myrtle ADKINS b. Feb 1887 KY 2. Wesley ADKINS b. Jan 1891 KY 2. Nannie ADKINS b. Apr 1893 KY 2. Stella ADKINS b. Mar 1896 Two other family members not listed in the 1890 census (according to one of the daughters of Elijah Alfred Adkins) were George ADKINS, believed to have lived in Oklahoma City, and Ella (or Ellar) ADKINS TALBOTT, believed to have lived in Akron, OH
Hi Betty, Do you know anything further about your Ella (Ellar) Adkins? Was she an Acree? My husband's line is from Acree and I think his grandfather's sister was Ella(Ellar) Acree Adkins or Atkins and she lived in Oklahoma City. I won't know anything about the Adkins or Atkins, if she is the same, but I do have a wealth of info about the Acree's. [email protected] >I am new to the list.
