    3. Friends, does anyone out there know where one can access the Social Security Death Index other than ancestry.com. I mean free sites. I understand there is more than one site to access the SSDI. Apparently, the SSDI is not completely accurate. All recorded deaths after 1961 are not there. Any help appreciated. Sincerely, Bob Marden

    1. Re: [OKCREEK-L] Paden
    2. Creek Co. is only about 10 miles North of Paden. But you might keep this in Mind, if this was before 1907 Paden was in the Creek Nation. Also in the census Paden was listed as Creek twp. Since it was Creek nation that is probly the reason they had to go through the Creek Suborinate Chief. Ona

    3. Kathy, Thanks for the location of Paden. Unfortunately, my Great Grandfather's farm was five miles Northeast of Paden and said to be in Creek County. In fact, he leased property there from Creek Nation Subordinate Chief Jackson Night. Of course, those county boundaries may have changed since the late 1880s, but I believe Creek County's boundary was just East of Paden. Do you know anymore about this??? Thanks for anything you can offer. :-) Sincerely, Eric Clay Johnson ----- Original Message ----- From: Kathy Williams <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, May 17, 1999 7:22 AM Subject: [OKCREEK-L] Paden > Hi, all! 3. The Ellis' I'm researching right now is Viana Ellis who married Will Leverett in or around St. Jo, Montague Co., Texas. I found a Viana Ellis (age 12) in the 1880 Census of Montague Co. Parents were Sarah A. and William J. Ellis both born in Missouri. I believe Viana is buried in Bristow City Cemetery and was interred on 26-Aug-1935. (I found her listed in the cemetery records but I haven't found the tombstone yet.) Viana and Will Leverett had 9 children, with their oldest; Rebecca b. 1888 d. 1985; being my great-great-grandmother. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, May 14, 1999 2:57 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [OKCREEK-L] Indian Territory There was a 1890 territorial census for Ok. and you could check the 1900 soundex. 2. Dear Eric, Sorry, didn't see the other message. The Oklahoma State Historuical Society Library located at NE 18th and Lincoln in Oklahoma City has some records for Creek Co. However, there are records at both Drumright City Hall and Sapulpa at the Count Courthouse. The historical society has Census records from 1890-1920 for all counties in Oklahoma. The 1890 census was for the Oklahoma Territory only. The 1900 Census is split with both Oklahoma and Indian Territories. The counties you are interested in are in Indian Territory. I hope this helps. 2. Dear Robert, Paden is either on the Lincoln-Okmulgee county line or a little mor into Okmulgee Co. There are cemetaries on both sides of the line that are associated with Paden. I would check in both counties for records you might nee. The Lincoln Co. website has the original land records posted. Good luck, Cindy Yocum "Eric C. 2. I can do lookup for marriage & devorce records in Creek Co. Almost all of the cemeteries are in books. I can do lookups on this also. The old land records are not indexed by name. You would have to know about where the land was. Ona
