My name is Bridget Herring Macomber and I am looking for informtion on the CROW and NIX families in Comanche County. I am looking for more info on William Frederick Nix and his wife Laura Bell Crow. In the cemetery page of the OKGenWeb Comanche County, they had a Crow Family cemetery, near Saddle Mountain, NW of Meers, is this cemetery still there, and are there any tombstones left? William Frederick Nix was b- Oct 25, 1857 to John Henry and Cornelie Ann (Hart) Nix. William married Dec 5, 1882, Laura Bell Crow, the daughter of John and Sarah Bryant Crow. John Crow is said to have been an Indian Cheif. William and Laura had the following children: Luther nix, James Nix, Edna Ruby (Nix) Herring, William Abby Nix, Betty Velma (Nix) Manning, and Johnnie Cecil (Nix). William Frederick Nix died Nov 25, 1938 and Laura died Feb 21, 1935. Can anyone help, I have no places of were they were born, married or died? My e-mail address is BHM73@msn.com Thank you for any help!

Is there someone in the Lawton area that would be willing to look up an obituary for me? I need one for Frank Rush Sr who died there in 1933...the statement I have says "he died after a stroke in 1933, and his funeral was at the "Lawton church". We are trying to find his parents and siblings. Thank you. Hi! This is my first listing, and I am in need of help on Frank Rush who died in 1933, his services were in Lawton. His wife was probably named Effie, and she died in December 1964. An only son wasFrank Rush, Jr who married a Genette. This information came from a newspaper article. We are especially anxious to learn who his parents and siblings were. Frank was born in Kansas, and came to Oklahoma in 1901. Thanks gayle1@kansas.net ==== OKCOMANC Mailing List ==== Remember to type surnames in ALL CAPS for easier reading.
In 1934 my grandparents moved to the Sterling area to take up farming. My grandmother was pregnant with my mother. They didn't have a home yet and lived in a tent in Brown Township. A doctor was called from Lawton. He did the delivery and left before he got a name for the birth certificate. I don't know how, but my mother didn't discover this until she was 52 years old. She had to get a copy of the birth certificate for medicaid. The only way she could get her name on the birth certificate was to have someone who was present at the birth sign an affidavit. Fortunately my grandmother was still alive. My mother was born Feb 22, 1934, which was a coincidence since her older brother was born Feb 22, 1922. My mother married my stepfather in October. She didn't find out until Feb rolled around and she mentioned her birthday that his birthday was Feb 22, 1919.
