1. Re: [OKCOMANC-L] Prairie Lore
2. sbd / KSSOONERS@aol.com, I've included an e-mail I sent to the Lawton Public Library regarding your request. http://www.cityof.lawton.ok.us/library/oklahoma.htm Oklahoma Genealogy Also, I've included the information from their webpage, which says they have the back copies of Prairie Lore you are seeking. When they respond to my post, I will forward it on to you. I am in Los Angeles, so I'll be willing to bet you are closer to Lawton than I am...knowing that they have the back copies you are looking for, you might choose to make a trip to see them. If not, I will be there in June to visit relatives, and will be happy to do a lookup for you at that time. I am mystified by your inability to reach me through my e-mail address hyperlinked in two places on the main index page of the Comanche County OKGenWeb page, as well as one link to my 18 y/o daughter who constructed the page. If there is an arrant link, please let me know, as I could not find one that did not return back to me. I will contact you again when I receive a response from the Library. 1. [OKCOMANC-L] Settlement Permits in 19th Century OK??
2. A friend of mine has told me that white settlers needed permits to enter OK territory during the 19th century. Can anyone verify (or erase) this notion? If it is true, where are the permits filed? My GG Grandparents lived in Civil War era OK, and it would probably help me if I could find their records. Frank

2. Highland Cemetery 2201 Northwest Fort Sill Boulevard, Lawton, OK 73507 (580) 355-2905 This is the correct address and phone number for Highland Cemetery in Lawton. I have had excellant luck calling and talking to the officials that are at this number. Many times they can give you all the information that you are needing. They have at times been able to tell me who bought the plot, next of kind, reason for death....plot location...inscriptions...etc..etc. Good luck. If you need more, let me know. Lynne
