I found the ORIGINAL marriage certificate in the family bible (which is now in the possession of his 91 yr.old daughter, Pearl Baker) in Soper, OK. It seems that it was never sent back to the proper government agency to be recorded. So, your ancestors may have done the same thing and you will never find any record of the marriage. The fine for not returning the original to the proper agency within 60 days of date of marriage was $100, alot of money in those days! Do you suppose the state will still fine them now if it is turned in? LOL
