My grandfather's brother, John Newton Routon, was b 1901 in Choctaw Co, north of Soper about 5 miles. In about 1920 he married Nick Kechum. Newton died in 1923 with, I think, typhoid fever. My grandmother told me that he and Nick had a daughter, but I know nothing about either Nick or the child. Have you heard this name in your Kechum family?
