I've got several Indian Pioneer Interview's which were done by Hazel Greene during the 1937's. I don't know much else about her--sorry. Your welcome to e-mail me if I can be of any help. Deb

Enumeration district 78 in the '20 census covered quite a bit of ground. One avenue you might explore if no one else comes up with anything, depending on how far north in 78 they lived, could they have been buried in Pushmataha County? Have you checked with the state for a death certificate? In this area it's a bit iffy that one was issued but wouldn't hurt to check if you haven't already. A long shot would be to check with the Prater-Lampton Mills-Coffey funeral home in Hugo. They have the records for many of the old funeral homes in the county. Contact info is on the county website. Good luck, Ron

If there are other cemetery books at the local library or history center, I would sure appreciate a lookup to see if these people are listed: I am trying to find the graves of my great-great-grandparents, Wilson S. BROWN and Catherine M. "Cassey" BROWN. According to some notes I have from my grandmother, Wilson died in 1922 and Catherine in 1920. They were in the 1920 census in Choctaw County, in ED#78 to the north of Fort Towson, so if Catherine died later that same year it seems to me she is probably buried in Choctaw County. If she is there, it seems that Wilson might be there as well. Thanks for any help you can give. Chuck Bennett

Surnames: Brown, Sears, Logan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/zZB.2ACI/511 Message Board Post: Can someone tell me the location of Fennel, Oklahoma? It doesn't show on any map that I have, but various photos and notes that I have from my grandmother refer to Fennel, and from context it appears to be near Fort Towson. My great-grandmother Minnie (Sears) Brown was a schoolteacher, and one photo shows her with the students from her class at what the photo names as "Fennel School". The photo isn't dated, but I think it is in the range 1916-1920, because of her apparent age and because the family lived near Fort Towson in those years. Another photo is of my grandmother, Nadine Brown, with her cousin Grace Logan, and this photo also identifies the location as "Fennel, Okla, near Fort Towson" and is dated 1917. Is anyone here familiar with this place? I'd like to find out more about it. Thanks, Chuck Bennett
