    3. Ginger, My ggrandmother was born in Welling. They had alloted land near Welling. I looked at their land plats and there was no Sanders. However when I compared the old land plats to todays maps: Welling was Township 16 North, 23 East.....I have 17 North, 23 East. You may be able to get the land plats from The Cherokee County Clerk office, call them, I think the said $5.00 fee. Also. If you have his Dawes #, email NARA and specify that you want his Allotment papers (they don't include them with the Dawes Jacket), fee $10.00. They don't have the plats in them, but they give his meridean info to find his land, plus they have the deed in it. Oklahoma Historical Society will send them for $15.00 for out of State requests. I got my land plat copies from a person who volunteered to send them to me at the Indian TerritoryL maailing list on rootsweb. Hope one of these work for ya.
