I have posted before, but have some new information. Malinda Martin b. abt 1849 Searcy CO, AR married William Hurt a choctow Indian before 1865. Malindas parents are James Martin b. VA and Isobel Melton B., TN Malinda's 1st child Margaret A. Hurt b. MO, 2nd child William Scott Hurt b abt 1871-72 in Vinita. William Scott SR was killed before birth of son. Malinda then moved from Venita to MO. Either Phelps or Barry. In 1880 she was in Barry Co, married to Henry Clay Howard. Malinda had a brother in Cherokee Co in 1872, either William Martin or Richard Martin or both brothers were there. Malinda moved to Hulbert early 1900 and resided in Hulbert till the death of her husband Henry Howard. She remarried and moved to Ponca City, where she is buried. Her 1st son William Scott Hurt may have resided around Locust grove. Williams grandfather also a William ran off with a Choctaw women. I have found William Scotts grandchildren and they are sending me information also. I do have more on these lines. anything sound familiar let me know. Sandra Howard
