Who would of thought that 20 years later I would wonder about the names on the stone? > > Rhonda > > Moinewgen@aol.com wrote: > > > You may be referring to the actual cemetery where John Ross, President of Cherokee Nation when they moved from the East to Oklahoma, is buried along with his wife and other relatives. It is on the SE side of Tahlequah, just outside town, and near what I understand was a school. I was at the cemetery in July. It was hard to find, because it is out of sight from the road, just past the school on the left hand side, and the only sign identifying it is hanging on the entrance gate itself, so that when it is open you can't see the sign to know it's even there! The cemetery is also in pretty poor shape, but definitely worth the visit from an historical point of view, if this is the one you are referring to. > > > > ==== OKCHEROK Mailing List ==== > > Have you submitted your Cherokee County records to the OKGenWeb Archives? > > Visit: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/cherokee/cherokee.html > > > > ============================== > > Join the RootsWeb WorldConnect Project: > > Linking the world, one GEDCOM at a time. > > http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/ > > > ==== OKCHEROK Mailing List ==== > Have you submitted your Cherokee County records to the OKGenWeb Archives? > Visit: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/cherokee/cherokee.html > > ============================== > Personalized Mailing Lists: never miss a connection again. > http://pml.rootsweb.com/ > Brought to you by RootsWeb.com. I was their in August, very poor shape and I missed the entrance at first, does anyone know where a person can get a listing of people buried their. I have Stephens family that is suppose to be buried their at Park Hill. Their were alot of stones so old and unmarked. The head stones for the Ross family, were still in good shape. I was told along time ago, my family is suppose to be related, but never confirmed, through the Wilkerson side. diannals@hotmail.com Thank-you Dianna Souza
