What a story! wow. I noticed the name Ellis - probably no connection but thought I'd share this just in case. My greatgrandmother's older sister married an Ellis. Walter Mack Ellis m. Pairlee (went by middle name, can't recall first right now) in 1896. I'm not sure where they were married at this time, but they lived in Duncan, Stephens County, OK. They had two sons - Roy and Charlie.
