Hi folks I'm from Nebraska and just "discovered" Carter - Love County. I'm wondering if anyone on the list has any knowledge to share about the history of Overbrook. I believe it was just across the border in Love County south of Ardmore. When was is settled - - who were the first settlers - - what about the first schools, churches, cemeteries, etc. Is there more than one Baptist church in/near Overbrook? Can anyone suggest reference books that might have information about early Overbrook? Does anyone recognize the name McAlister in the area pre-1893-94? Thanks, Kathy
