Harry was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Boston, Mass., the only child of Harry and Florence Revelle. He died Nov. 5, 1999, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, where he and his wife had recently relocated. He was a resident of Oklahoma City almost his entire adult life. He graduated from high school in 1944 in Ardmore, Okla., attended the University of Oklahoma, and received his bachelor of arts degree from Oklahoma City University. During World War II, he was fast-tracked out of high school based on his demonstrated academic achievements and then entered service with the United States Navy. He married the former Wanda Wray while in the Navy. He worked for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission for 27 years, serving as counselor and program supervisor. During that time, he wrote survey reports and historical surveys on numerous under-developed Oklahoma counties. He and Phoebe have shared an enormous love and passion for animals, becoming members of several cat registries. Their Tonkinese cats earned many awards at shows across the country. Besides his love for the theater and his animals, he had a passion for swing jazz and Brazilian music. Harry is survived by his loving wife, Phoebe; five wonderful children, John Revelle, Hal Revelle, Mark Revelle, Dana Revelle Wilson and Cindy Cox; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
