I visited Ardmore Tuesday of this week. I found the people at the Court House to be very rude and not helpful at all. BUT the people at the Historical Museum were WONDERFUL! I found lots of info there and then went to both Funeral homes and they too were wonderful and allowed me to search the records and made a copy of the record I did find. The main library was NOT HELPFUL. They didn't know much. The Chickasaw Library was VERY HELPFUL! They have the newspapers on micorfiche and helped me locate an obituary. I am going to go back to search the newspapers some more and will go to OK City if I can search the death records there. Ardmore is a fairly small place and with the map we were given at the Historical museum, we navigated easily all over the city. If anyone plans a trip there, visit the history museum FIRST.
