A resident of Ardmore 49 years, he married Betty Shahan here Nov. 17, 1944, and was an auto body repair man for General Motors 37 years when he retired. After retirement, he pursued the art of caining chairs. Samiec served in the Army Air Corps during WW II and as a member of the 31st Bombardeers Squadron Association, was present at the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, was a 32nd degree Mason, AF&AM, Scottish Rite Consistory and Eastern Star Chapter 70. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Karen Folsom, Ardmore; two brothers, Robert, Avon, N.Y., and Richard, Mercerburg, PA; two sisters, Dorothy Metterling and Ruth Housnicke, Bativia, N.Y.; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brenda. Born to Gordon B. and Fronia Holder Shahan on Oct. 5, 1924, at Wilson, Mrs. Samiec died Thursday following an extended illness. A lifetime resident of Ardmore, she married Laverne K. Samiec here Nov. 17, 1944, and was a former deputy tag agent. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Her husban d preceded her in death May 4. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Folsom, Ardmore; a sister, Peggy Neece, Tulsa; and two granddaughters.
