I did some census searches on the 1920 (since it was indexed and easy to search) for your BUCKHOLTS and associated people: 6 BUCKHOLTS in OK, none in Garvin, 1 in Murray Co. at the State School for the Deaf at Sulphur (Helen Age 9, b OK, parents b OK). There are two families in Marshall Co. Family 1: (Pg. 1A, ED 163, Marshall Co. OK). This family included Ed E., 22, b OK, parents b US and wife Lucy, 22, bTX, parents b TN; daughter Eileen 4/12, b OK; and grandmother Lucy A. WILLARD, 65, bTN, parents b VA. Ed is a salesman in hardware. Family 2: (Pg. 14B, ED 166, Marshall Co., OK). This family included Everett H., 38, b OK, parents b TX and wife Fay B., 22, b SC, parents b SC; son Everett M., 3 4/12, b OK. Everett is a farmer. I did a nationwide search for G.W., no G.W. or similar. There are only 22 BUCKHOLTS in the US on the 1920 census. There are 32 BUCKHOLT in the US on the 1920, no G.W. or similar. No PROUX, O'DELL, (3 ODELL), G.E. JOHNSON, and 65 DAVIS in CARTER Co. 1920 census. On the 1900 census, I found a G.W. BUCKHOLTS, b1849 Miss, father b Miss, mother b AL and wife Martha, b1873 TX, father b MO, mother b AR; daughter Lilly May, b1898 OK. Wife has had 5 children 5 living. G.W. is a farmer. Township 4 South Range 1 East, Chickasaw Nation, Oklahoma Series: T623 Microfilm: 1848 Book: 2 Page: 41 I would guess that this G.W. probably had a son named after his father and this is the person who is the new father. Maybe the census taker missed him. Once the 1930 is indexed, that would help narrow it down some. -------Original Message------- From: Hiram \"Ben\" Cooper Date: Sunday, June 30, 2002 07:17:01 AM To: OKCARTER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [OKCarter] Re: Tom Cooper Fam While in Ardmore 2-3 years ago, my wife and I ventured from antique shop to antique shop searching for relics from the Tom COOPER Farms and the car dealerships of Tom COOPER & Fleet COOPER, my uncles. We were fortunate enough to pick up a few historical objects. Among them was a baby book. What was unique about the baby book was the baby was born on Tom COOPER's Farm, Tuesday, October 29, 1935, at 12:40 o'clock. Even though the name of the baby was not mentioned in the book, the mother was noted as Alice and father was listed as G. W. BUCKHOLTS. The nurses listed [as best I can decipher] were O'DELL, DAVIS and Mrs. PROUX, and the doctor was G. E. JOHNSON. The baby weighed 6-pounds. Several names were listed on the congratulations page and those who had given gifts were listed on the inside of the back cover along with the present they given. It would be interesting to know if anyone of this subscribers list may know this family and who this baby book refers. We did ! not find any relics from the car dealerships owned by my Uncle Fleet COOPER. Any help would be most grateful. Ben Cooper Bella Vista, AR bcooper@mc2k.com .
