Tommie: I just wrote you a looong letter on the CROSSWAITEs and CRINERs in the wrong HTML and the list would not accept it. Will you please contact me at mailto:aeptcp@preferred.com and I will try to forward it to you at your e-mail> I tried (tlhorn@brightoak.net but doesn't work..hopefully the format will be acceptable!! I refer you to Kerry Armstrong's website on James Logan COLBERT, there are a lot of Criners listed there: http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/kma/COLBERT/Index.htm I have more info on McALESTER/McALESTER connections to both my mother's CROSTHWAITE's and to the CRINERs. McALISTER and McALESTER families are both related to the CRINER/COLBERTs. Anyone know if they are the same family?? And is it possible the town of McAlester, OK was named for Col. James Jackson McALESTER (Lt. Gov of OK before 1820) who md. Rebecca BURNEY g-gr-dau of James Logan COLBERT? He is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in McAlester, Pittsburg County, OK. George CRINER who md. Minnie McALISTER was also a BURNEY descendant, it looks like he and Rebecca BURNEY were first cousins, which makes me think the McALISTERs and McALESTERs might be the same family. Any ideas? Tania
