    3. I thought I'd introduce myself since I recently decided to establish this list. My name is Edward A. Black, Sr. and I established this list for those who desire to contact others who have like desires in locating family members, taking part in discussions or doing other genealogical rersearch in Carter County, Oklahoma. My interest in Carter Co., OK comes because my wife grandparents lived in Cheek, Oklahoma in the 1900s. My wife's namesake aunt died there when only 18 months old and is buried in Hewitt Cemetery, near Cheek [closer to Wilson, OK I believe]. My wife's grandfather owned a general store in Cheek before selling it out and moving to Denver in 1917 I currently live in Lancaster, California and I have been married 27-1/2 years, having raised a son, who himself is married and has 2 sons of his own. He lives in McAllen, TX. I've had an interest in genealogy since I was a child [although I referred to it as finding my roots], but due to a job & raising our son, lacked the time until a couple of years ago. My wife & I have long found enjoyment in helping others, in my case doing what I can to help in family history. I have found that the lists I've taken part in have helped a lot in locating family members on either my own or that of my wife's family.     3. Hi All, I am researching the William H. SMITH family and the ROBERTS family of the Ardmore area. Also would like to learn more about the family of Charles D. MURPHY. William H. SMITH and Charles D. MURPHY were half-brothers who were born in TN and in MO respectively. Their mother was Eliza JOINER SMITH MURPHY. William H. SMITH married Annis Jane ROBERTS in Grayson Co. TX in 1884. They are buried in Springer, OK. One of Annis ROBERTS' brothers was a Mayor of Ardmore. I would like to hear from anyone connected to this family. Best regards, Joanna Smith Dunn

    3. Am researching MUSGRAVE and all connecting families Particularly interested in finding info on Burrell T. Musgrave who married Sarah Jane Baker. He was a cotton buyer in Ardmore. Died June , 1922, buried Rose Hill Cem. Who were his parants? I know he's kin to the rest of the Musgraves in Carter county, but how? Connie Schofield
