I need some help. I need to find some old court records of Carter Co. My grandfather Alph Wallace had Hunnington's Chorea. That is a inherited disease. Alph's father (Joseph N. Wallace/Wallis) had it. Joseph and his wife (Rebecca Emeline Morris) moved to Carter Co. about 1892. I think I have found Joseph N. Wallace in the household of his son (William Riley Wallace) in the 1900 census. I have been told that this disease was thought to be insanity at one time. When my grandfather got bad with the disease they went to court and had him sent to Griffin Hospital at Norman about 1923. I would like to find the court records on him and perhaps on his father if there are any. Can some one tell me where I can find these records? I would really apreciate the help. Mell

Some of you may recall my search for the illusive Walnut Cemetery that my gg-grandmother, Mary Ann COURTNEY (d1911) was buried in. A relative tells me that she has been back to visit it and it is in Younis Cemetery. When my dad heard this, he said that it is probably Quantis Cemetery after the Indian. I believe Mary Ann died in Davis, but lived most of her life on her ranch near old Fort Arbuckle, so I am sending this to several mailing lists since this could fall on either side of the county line. I appreciate any help that anyone can give me on this illusive search! **Candace -- Candace Gregory
[email protected]
FTM Home Page: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/g/r/e/Candace-L-Gregory/
Researching Gregory, Prater, Courtney, Williams, Wicker, Sandifer, Slaughter, Cain
Sally, If you find out where the old records are kept for the confederate home in Ardmore, please let me know. My husband's GrGrandfather was there until he passed away in 1923, and also is buried in Rose Hill. I sent a request for information where to find the home's files about a year ago on one of the Internet lists, and all I received were others like my self trying to find the records. No one seems to know where they are. I would really appreciate if you find out where the records are, if you would share the information with me. I will keep your letter on file in case I find something. Thank you for your time. Pat [email protected]
