    2. Dennis Muncrief
    3. Posted on: Carter County, Ok Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Carter?read=1148 Surname: LOVE, SMITH, UMPRYS ------------------------- The Murray County Sheriff's Office has recently recovered 3 stolen tombstones 1 mile south of the Murray/Garvin county line. The stones are small enough for a man to carry, weighing about 75 to 100 pounds each. I went to the Sheriff's Office and photographed the stones. The names are: LOVE, Richmond, died May 1, 1912, Age 76 Years; - SMITH, Mellisa,(note odd spelling) died June 25, 1916, 1863 - 1916; - UMPRYS, Jane, died Aug 12, 1876, Age 25 Years, d/o A & C UMPRYS. It is assumed that all 3 stones were stolen from the same cemetery. I have contacted the co-ordinator of the Garvin County OKGENWEB and we are currently working to locate a cemetery with these three surnames but have not had any luck. Do any of these names sound familiar to anyone on the list? We need to get these stones back to the proper cemetery and out of the Sheriff's 'evidence locker'. Any leads would be greatly appreciated - Dennis

Ardelia Canzada Stanford(b. April 10, 1873) married Lovell Lee Coffman III. She died in Carter Co., Oklahoma in Jan. 28, 1925. Her daughter Lavera Coffman (who married Noah Dunn) was my great-grandmother. Through study of census records, I believe her parents were William Stanford (b. 2. Nell Lewis
    3. I am searching for relatives of my Mom that she called "Cousin Jeff" (GRIFFIN) and "Cousin Alice" (I presume GRIFFIN). I 'think' the husband of Alice GRIFFIN was named Ben Coe. Mother wrote that she traveled by train from Ardmore, OK to visit her GRIFFIN relatives in the early 1900's possibly as late as 1910. My Grandfather was Thomas A. GRIFFIN who died when my Mom was a small girl. These were the only Griffin relatives she ever knew. I would very much like to exchange family information with descendants of this GRIFFIN family.
