My grandfather Jim Holbrook & Maggie Huckaby's brother Port Holdbrook married his second cousin Mary Malissa Harkins. There is another stone next to Aron ,with name Harkins on it but I'd have to go back to cemetery to vertify whose. Jim & Maggie & Aron are all buried at Rosehill Cemetery, Ardmore,OK.Carter County ,Port is buried at Waurika,OK, Jefferson County I hope this is your family, I have more on family will share. VLW

She was married to John DAVIS in 1909 in Coal Co. and they had one child, Edgar Lee DAVIS. Georgia DAVIS ran a boarding house in Dillard sometime between 1910-1930. I don't know if she owned the boarding house or just ran it for someone else. John, Georgia, and Edgar, as well as my aunt, Augusta MOONEYHAM, (their niece) can be found on the 1920 Carter Co. Do you know if your Grandmother Alice Nancy GRIFFIN had a mother or aunt by the name of Alice? My Mom was born in 1899 and the Cousin Alice she knew in Wilson Co. OK was already married in the time frame of 1900-1910, when your Grandmother was b. in 1907. Do you know where your Great Grandparents lived before coming to OK? [I don't know for sure, but I suspect that Olivia Sumpter GRIFFIN was named Sumpter because she was born just days after the Battle at Fort Sumpter in SC.] Olivia's father was Alexander Rhodes Morrison b. 01 Dec 1815 in Jackson Co. GA. I have quite a bit of proof about his family but nothing more on my GRIFFIN family. I'll keep your family information & keep searching any leads I can find & be in touch with you if anything turns up.

Thomas A. GRIFFIN died 26 Feb 1909 in Carter Co. OK and is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, OK. [My Mother was 10 at that time.] The only two members of her father's family that she knew were 'Cousin Jeff GRIFFIN and Cousin Alice GRIFFIN married to Benjamin COE. They lived in Wilson, OK. just west of Ardmore between 1900 & 1910. I still do not know if Cousin Jeff was a brother or father of Cousin Alice GRIFFIN COE. I made contact with a member of a COE family but neither of us know if this was the correct family of the Ben COE I'm looking for. There was a Ben Coe married to an Alice and on census records this Alice COE said she was b. in MO. This Ben Coe was born in Cook Co. TX and migrated with his brother Wilber COE to Wilson Co. OK in the correct time frame. This Alice and Ben COE had no children. I still have not been able to locate the place that Olivia Sumpter Morrison lived before she married Thomas GRIFFIN, but I 'think' it was in AL. She was born in Dade Co. GA. Olivia & Thomas GRIFFIN first lived in McMillan (now OK) before moving on to Ardmore, OK. I'll be happy to check out any leads given to me.

They Lived most of their lives in Ripley OK, Payne CO. Grandma was born in 1907 her father was Marion Francis Griffin. Marion's brother was Charles, Their Father was John Griffin b.16Mar1837.
