Looking for Annie Lee PALMER - born 1868 in TX and died 1926 in Carter County, OK. Her maiden name was DAVIS and 2 marriages to MILFORD and ENGLAND before marriage to James F. "Pappy" PALMER. James died 15 Mar 1932. They are buried together with a stone made in the late 60's or early 70's. The problem being that the only clue I have to a cemetery is Dixon (or Dickson) Cemetery in Carter Co., OK. I know there are no known cemeteries with that name in the county that I can locate. I was wondering if anyone knew about any cemeteries in Dickson and what the name(s) would be. Maybe the name of the town instead of cemetery? I have searched for funeral records to no avail. I found an obit for James - he was living in Oil City at the time of his death - but I cannot locate one for Annie Lee. She had 2 sons by previous marriages - Claud ENGLAND and Jeff MILFORD (Jeff was living in Healdton (in 1932). Help will be very much appreciated. Carol Burnes Morse

Hi, Both my great gfs, Mark Skaggs & William Tyson "Tice" Hobbs, and gf & gm, DanielSkaggs who married Stella Hobbs, lived in Durwood during the time period of about 1895- 1910. I am looking for information about my grandfather, William Grant COPELAND b. 1863 MO. His parents were Mary Butts b. TN and unknown Copeland. William lived in Parker Co. TX 1885-1888. Then he moved to Ardmore, Carter Co., OK where he reportedly had a trading post and grocery store. He lived in Ardmore until around 1904-1905 when he moved to Wheeler Co., TX where he owned 640 acres and raised stock. When he died in 1941 his obituary stated that he had a brother, John COPELAND who was living in Ringling, OK and a sister Dora Copeland BILLINGSLEY who was also living in Ringling. Hicks, 1876 -1927 and on the same stone Polly Ann Hicks, 1882 - 1954. They are in the Bomar Point Cemetery which is near Wilson, Oklahoma. I am descended from a George W. Hicks who m. (1) Alice Hice (?) (though the 1910 census show wife's name as "Annie" and marital status for both as second marriage). George and Annie were in Carter County in 1910, but their oldest child was born in Texas. Could this possibly be your James's brother George?
