    1. [OKCARTER] Fwd: Request for Card Shower (Not Really Genealogy)
    2. Here is a message I received from a very dear friend/relative, Georgia Lindon. Maybe I did stir up an interest in card showers. This one is for a 60th wedding anniversary. Not a lot of folks live long enough to have such a wonderful celebration. Let's all see if we can help them. They are descendants of Coffee, Craig, Jones, Ferguson, Williams, Nickell, Newton, etc. Bud Caudle Hi to all: I have something I want you all to do for me. My Dad and Mom (Buford and Clova Coffee) will be married 60 years the 19th of May. My Mom had a stroke will be 5 years in July and has been in the extended care at West Liberty, Kentucy since. She has very little to look forward to. So here is what I would like for you all to do for them - send them a anniversay card. I got the idea from Bud Caudle when he asked all on his list to send a card to his Mom. And she got 127 cards. That would be great. Mom and Dad would love it, and so would I. I am going to thank you all in advance. Thanks so much for doing this and I will let you know how many they get. Clova and Buford Coffee 100 Liberty Heights Ct B-2 West Liberty, KY 41472 P.S. We are having our family reunion and a surprise anniversary party for them all on the 19th. So if you can come, please do. We would be very glad. It will be in West Liberty, KY. That is the Coffee - Penix reunion. We usually have it in July, but since it's their 60th anniversary we decided to combine them. Love, Georgia.

    1. [OKCARTER] Birthday Card Shower (Not Genealogy)
    2. All of you were so good to help make the card shower a big success for my mom. Now I need to ask for another card shower. My step dad has been so good at watching out for Mom that if it hadn't been for him, I am sure we would have lost Mom many years ago. He just couldn't believe there were so many people in the world who would go out of their way to send a birthday card to someone they didn't even know. O'Dell Jones will be 74 years old (13 years younger than Mom) on May 15 this year. I am in hopes that he can receive even more cards than Mom did. He sometimes thinks that he's an outsider, no matter how much we tell him that he is one of us. He is one of those 'good ole country boys.' His family lines came to Texas and Oklahoma from Kentucky and Tennessee. I'm waiting to find out if his Jones and Isaacs and Roberts families are the same as mine. Please help make this a really BIG card shower. His address is: O'Dell Jones HCR 70, Box 69 Ardmore, OK 73401 And I still hope everyone will ask for card showers for their special folks. Bud Caudle

    3. I don't know anything about the records being in Ardmore. I looked your grandparents up in my "Carter County Cemetery Inscriptions". In Vol. II, pg. 50 at Graham Cemetery I found: Sarah Jane Rogers Bennett Born near Moberly, Mo. Dec, 19, 1834 died July 31, 1927 That was the only one for a Sarah & there were none for a Jess, or Jesse. Hope this helps some.
