I too had family living in Hewitt. It is no longer there. There is also a Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. The whole area was oilfield until the boom busted in the early 1980s. During the time your ancestor was there, the whole area had exploded with oil, there were towns springing up overnight. The oilfield was quite dangerous and ruggged during those days. Many men lost their lives, other's lost body parts.

She was married before to jw.Wade.When she married fred she could have married under the last name of Wade. I would say she married some time between 1918 to 1926 in ardmore or wilson, carter county. She got a divorce from jw.wade, I'm not sure if it was in that county. I have been looking for info for many years. I need info on both marriages and the divorce from jw wade. This is my father's mother and she has past on at the age of 100. my father is still living and he would like to find out any info on this. We have had alot of trouble trying to fine her first marriage, we have know ideal what (jw ) means. I could use any help on this. She always said she was married, but would not tell us where. I do know that Fred Lamb came from ardmore cause his family had oil around there. I need help this has been a big puzzle for many years now.

Parsons, worked at an oil field in 1920 in Carter County. He was on the 1920 census with his wife, Iris, and their 3 boys: Burke, Eugene, and Alfred. I couldn't read the township name, but thought it may have been 'Hewett'. Anyone know anything about Hewett and the oil fields that might have been there? I would also like to know anything about Alfred I can find. His full name was Alfred Aaron Parsons, born 13 Dec 1916 in Oklahoma. He was Superintendent of Schools in Paul's Valley Oklahoma for a while... He also adopted at least 3 children, 2 that belonged to his wife (name??) and a son that belonged to his nephew.
