STOVALL 1835-1905, was born in TN, and married Martha (Wilson) Nantes in Henry Co., TN circa 1858 . She was widow of Peter R. Nantes of Obion Co., TN, and daughter of Swepson and Dorothy (Key) Wilson of Henry Co. They had a son in 1859, and appear in the 1860 Henry Co. census, but have disappeared by the 1870 census. The family story says he was a minister. They settled in Ardmore, Carter Co., OK where John died in 1905 and is buried there. I am looking for information on, and descendants of John and Martha.

    3. Surname Holybee My grandfather, John Francis Holybee, was born 1886, married 1905 in Ardmore, OK, and is buried in Ardmore Cemetery. The online Cemetery gives him as buried in Rose Hill Cemetery with his death date as December 31, 1920. Yet, when I sent money to State for a death certificate, they have searched twice and cannot find one. I was under the assumption that to be buried, one had to have had a doctor issue a death certificate. How can I possibly get proof of his death? I would like to know what he died of.

There was an 1890 Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory Census taken by the tribe. It is in three volumes. I believe Vol 2 contains what is now Carter Co. My ancestors were living in Cheek at the time and found them. You might look into it. Good luck. Harold in New Orleans

My grandpa was born there in Carter county in Healdton 1890, His dad was Robert Price and mother was Melissa Jane. My grandpa was Jerry and he had older siblings that would have been going to school there, Would there be records ? I want to find something to show that they were there. Is there anything?
