Hi, I am trying to research one of my relatives who was married in the Atoka area. The marriage certificate shows that D.C. McCown and Minda Kelley were married on 10 Nov 1906 in Indian Territory (Central District --- ss) with the certificate being issued at Atoka. I have the McCown genealogy going back many generations, but I am interested in Minda Kelley who was 1/2 Cherokee. The marriage certificate shows the couple as being from 'Lula'. Minda Kelley's parents are Daniel Martin Kelley (b 1846 in N. Carolina) and Sarah Elizabeth Samples (b 1852 in N. Carolina). Sarah was Cherokee and related (to my grandmother) her account (as a little girl) of walking the 'Trail of Tears'. Any help is appreciated.
