I do know that deeds I have searched for prior to that year are missing. I did find some old marriage records in one of their Marriage License books. Also, I was told that no records were kept of deaths untill about 1908, <snip> There are some old death records at the Confederate Memorial Museum/Historical Society. If you will write to Gwen Walker (address found on Museum Page), she has some old death records from Abe Zwiegel's Funeral Home. Ruth Atteberry Adams

Court House had distroyed some records, does anyone know when the fire was and what records were distroyed. Allso I was told that no records were kept of deaths untill about 1908, is this true and did any agency in the Choctaw Nation keep such records? Thanks STAN WARD

    1. Information on Pruitt/Preuett and Ward
    2. Stanley Ward
    3. I would welcome and information on my great grandparents and their ancestors family's or decendents. William Henry Ward, 7 Jun,1852-13Mar,1907 and Sarah Ellen Turner, 4 Apr,1858-13 Nov,1906. William and Sarah lived in the Atoka area from about 1885 untill their deaths. Six of their 10 children were born in either Atoka Co., Jack Fork Co.,or Blue Co.the children were John Lawrence, Ira Robert, William Newton, Ida Delliah, Bertha Alabam,Annie Caldona, Katey Nora, Charles Edward, Czerina Florence, and Lottie Flora, all are deceased. A death notice in the local news paper stated that W. H. Ward was the toll bridge operator. The other set of grand parents are a little more confusing, Isaiah Newton Dodson Pruitt/Preuett 22 Mar,1855-1932 and Norma Emaline, or Nancy Elenore Reddall Oct1847-1902. They had at least three children, Lucy, Lillie Belle, and Alfred Logan, Lillie Belle was my grandmother, she Married Ira Robert Ward on 15 Oct,1899, they were married at her fathers home on McGee creek as reported in the Local News paper. Lucy married my grandfathers brother John Lawerence Ward, in 1900. Part of the confusion over this set of great grandparents is that they were both previously married, and had children by those marriages,, Dolly, Ruby, and Dodson Pruitt and Martha Ashley, we do not know much about these children. Any little bit of information will help solve the Puzzle. STAN WARD
