No, the automatic systems are not requirements. The only requirement pertaining to queries being that queries you receive be placed online in a timely manner - thirty days or less is timely. FWIW, I use all of these - CCHelper, Query Express and GenConnect - depending on the county. The beauty of using one of these systems is that your mailbox is not overflowing with queries - and with the GenConnect system anyone can leave a message online. I also respond to many directly for the same reason. When I have a few minutes to answer, all the queries for one county are right there - all on one page - PLUS the added benefit that the surnames are being indexed by Surname Helper. Marti
