I find that mutually linked sites work well. The issue of "we want money for our (published) work, which we want to promote" (as well as some gensocs wanting to charge for lookups) makes it difficult for gensoc and county sites to be combined. There are a number of counties that are hosted by gensocs in various states, and there has been some difficulty in the past with a few of them, who did not want to take queries and would not list any lookup volunteers except their own society, which charged for the lookups......all fine and dandy for a gensoc site, not acceptable for a USGW site. piglet (megan zurawicz) ICQ: 18429839 pigolit@ix.netcom.com * cochonnet@aol.com genealogy-- http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~piglet quilting-- http://pw1.netcom.com/~pigolit/index.htm theatre-- http://members.aol.com/tupacratz/poohpix.htm -----Original Message----- From: RRamsey113@aol.com <RRamsey113@aol.com> To: OK-IT-L@rootsweb.com <OK-IT-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, 14 December, 1998 21:06 Subject: Re: [OK-IT-L] Pontotoc Co. >In a message dated 12/13/98 1:00:14 PM US Mountain Standard Time, >mike_in_katy@pdq.net writes: > ><< > Also, a question that will need to be asked eventually - Is there a need to > have two pages?
