LE requires that you be affiliated with education institution. There is a form and it is education explicit. So we can no longer use it unless we lie on the form and make up the school info. Any other ideas? sharon --- okgenweb@cox.net wrote: > WS_FTP LE links to download > WS_FTP LE 5.08 is being updated to WS_FTP LE 6.0 > WS_FTP LE 6.0 will no longer be free for home users. > > These links were identified as 5.08 only. > > http://www.hot4download.com/utilities/WSFTP_LE_508.htm > This version is available free to government > employees, noncommercial > home users, and students and staff of educational > institutions. > > http://cronus.uwindsor.ca/units/its/website/itshd_downloads.nsf/0/ed64 > 4133b9310f2685256b030045d544?OpenDocument > download link is at very bottom and is a FTP icon > > http://download.com.com/3001-2160-1572132.html > download start immediately here > > http://www.csra.net/junodj/ws_ftp.htm > prob want to d/l the 32 bit file unless you know for > sure your system > is 16 bit (usually older systems running win95) > > http://www.bumpersoft.com/Internet/FTP/FTP_Clients/Review_696_index.ht > m > This version is available free to government > employees, noncommercial > home users, and students and staff of educational > institutions. > > > > > From: Sharon Hamilton <sharkay@swbell.net> > > Date: 2004/03/02 Tue PM 10:44:25 EST > > To: OK-IT-L@rootsweb.com > > Subject: Re: [OK-Coordinators] cc question cont. > > > > My hard drive crashed and am now finally online > with > > new hard drive. Sharon, I still use it. It was free when I got it. They have changed the rules now, but I say if you already had it then it should be fine. My computer crashed and had to install new hard drive so that means downloading the program again. Can't get it without filling out the education form. But that's okay, Mike who oversees VA Archives and some other states recommended another one that he uses and is free. So I am okay to go as soon as I learn it and download all my files again to my computer. I did not backup files on CD or disk...but will do that this time. Thanks for taking time to answer, Kimberly.
