Early last week I fired off emails to my state senator and 3 or 4 others that I know requesting their help in defeating SB 1608. So far I've received one reply promising that the senator "will look into it." SB1608 is still being reported as being "in committee". To prevent access to death certificates because of a poorly thought out knee jerk reaction to international terrorism is akin to using a sledge hammer to drive a carpet tack. Genealogical research should not be held hostage by legislative over-reaction. If you haven't contacted our legislators then you'll have no one to blame but yourself when yet another liberty is stripped away. -------------------- Ron Henson Choctaw Co.
