Well Said and I support your decision whole heartedly with regret to see you go. Best Wishes. Personally I have been deleting all the email that has been coming through here and just happened to read the last couple. I don't mind the rules and regulations needed to keep things in a consistent manner, but can we not communicate directly with those that need to bring their sites up to the standard instead of filling up our inbox with unnecessary banter? I guess it is one of the reasons I enjoy doing the cemetery stuff. I get very few complaints from my subject matter. Nuff said. I am back to lurking mode. Have a good day and enjoy this beautiful weather today. Richard Moberly Washington County CC Washington County Archivist Washington County Cemeteries (A query searchable Database) >>> kma <[email protected]> 04/10/02 11:55AM >>> > To The Respective Person In Charge: Many years ago and three server sites, when the OK/ITGenWeb was starting up, I was solicited, because of my "Chickasaw Historical Web Site", my work with the Chickasaw Nation and my contacts there, to create and host the Chickasaw IT web site as a part of the OK/ITGenWeb. Which I gladly did. At a later time when a person volunteered to check the sites for broken links, that I welcomed. But, then the rules started changing, this was required, and that, and so on and so on. Now we have "de-volved" to petty requirements of "Page Updated dates" and e-mail addresses on each and every page from photo-captions to old queries that never will be updated. On my principal site the "Chickasaw Historical" page I use a system on the main page of a sort of Table of Contents and with each new entry I flag it as "new" with a date. When still more items are added later, I remove the "new" tag. But that site belongs to me, and me alone. It seems here lately that my mail box is filled daily with debates, gripes, complaints, etc., from the OK-IT mail list. And I frankly am tired of it. It seems to me that we have lost site of the orginal concept of gathering a group of people on the web to help others with their family history. If we must all look just a like then make a fill in the blank page for all the counties. You have never ever heard much from me as my idea was to just do my part to help others who might stumble across my web sites. Nor, will you hear more from me again on this list as I now tender my resignation. You may assign the Chickasaw IT web site to someone else and remove me from this mail list. Please feel free to continue the page as is until you find another host. However, the new host will have to remove the Chickasaw Seal, as I had to obtain a special resolution from the Chickasaw Nation to use it. Respectfully Submitted, Kerry -- Kerry M.
