    3. Kerry, I sure am sorry to see you go. This is the sort of thing I'm afraid is going to happen more and more. I know with me, if it becomes a grind or hassle, I'll give it up. I am doing cc'ing for a few reasons: 1) I have two of the counties my families were in - I wouldn't take on any they weren't in 2) I enjoy doing website work - still learning but love it 3) I think the next best thing to finding info on my own ancestors or to finding a new cousin, is helping someone else find something. 4) I support wholeheartedly - FREE genealogical information. Just curious, but why can't there be a date stamp only on the first/index page? And maybe other pages that we would consider almost as important as the index page? Another thing - whenever I add anything to either of my county sites, I send out an announcement with the info and the url to the coinciding county email list. For those that have county sites to maintain and have just let them go stagnant - This is probably why all these new rules and requirements! So this project doesn't just sit there dead. So to those that do this - get out before you completely ruin it for the rest of us. I'm not sure where all these rules come from, but whoever makes them up should reconsider them before more just give their sites up. That would be such a bummer. ----- Original Message ----- From: "kma" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 9:34 AM Subject: [OK-Coordinators] The Last Straw > > > > To The Respective Person In Charge: > > Many years ago and three server sites, when the OK/ITGenWeb was starting up, I was > solicited, because of my "Chickasaw Historical Web Site", my work with the > Chickasaw Nation and my contacts there, to create and host the Chickasaw IT web > site as a part of the OK/ITGenWeb.
